About Us

Deepa Bio
Deepa was found in a burned building in Bogalusa, LA. Her mom was a stray. She was not formally fostered. She traveled north to be taken in by For the Love of Dogs Vermont.
Deepa was diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency Disorder in 2025; she cannot properly digest and absorb nutrients from her diet. After months of testing and treatment with pancreatic enzyme supplements she is in good health and thriving. There is no cure, but with proper management she will live a long and happy life.

Eli Bio
Eli was found as a stray in Mississippi, and was taken in and fostered by Remo’s Rescue, of Carthage, MS. He traveled north to be taken in by For the Love of Dogs Vermont, and found his way to us shortly thereafter.
A little while after his first birthday Eli began having urinary issues that presented a really unique case for his veterinarian. While he didn’t obviously present as having a typical ACL/MCL issue, after months of tests and medication trials, the last thing on the list was to look more closely at his knees. We took him to an orthopedic specialist and yes, both knees were involved. Eli underwent successful TPLO surgeries in late 2025/early 2026 and 20 weeks later he and Deepa went for their first swim of the season pain free!
